Webstuff and local treats.

For anyone who has attempted to navigate our site, we are working on getting everything linked together, and activating the different portions of our shop. Ideally when we allow people to make online purchases, the site will properly calculate shipping and paypal will work seamlessly. So if you’ve experienced any hang-ups with our site, please feel free to contact us: info@mightytrio.com   feedback is greatly appreciated! When poring over the same material numerous times, we can miss things. We are working on it in the meantime and will be testing shipping settings early next week, it could actually be fully functioning in 7 days time and we’ll be accepting orders across Canada and to our neighbors south of the border in the USA shortly after…..

If you haven’t been yet…. don’t let these lacklustre phone photos of the Queen of Tarts incredible new space discourage you, recovered marble, 13 feet of ceiling…

Amazing spot on 104st. downtown, North of Jasper ave. Fresh baked baguettes and other artisan breads, proper sandwiches on said baguette, soups from scratch, tasty salads and of course.. the quiches, the tarts, the cakes and other dessert items, nice coffees & teas. You will also find our fresh pressed oils available for purchase, including our hemp seed oil, featured on Kathryn Joel’s new site: www.getcookingedmonton.com/favourites/hemp-oil-mighty-trio-organics/          and in this month’s Avenue Magazine: 25 Must Eats Edmonton, check the article here: www.avenueedmonton.com/articles/page/item/25-best-things-to-eat?page=4

….. and while you’re there, you’ll notice The Queen of Tarts Lemon Curd is also featured as a must eat…. Thanks to Gail Hall for the lovely article, I know I’ve got some new places to visit!   Gotta check if the Penang Curry can be done vegetarian, I’ll have to pop outside for a waffle on a Saturday at the Old Strathcona Market, The Roasted Tomato Crostini with a nice belgian beer sounds like a nice treat, the Thai Goddess chocolate is a little bite of nirvana and right after I post this, the only thing keeping me from being vegan, amazing cheese… specifically the Smoky Valley Goat cheese…. I might drop an email about a CSA share…

O ya!   In addition to the Queen of Tarts downtown, our products are available every Saturday at the Old Strathcona Farmers Market, from The Good Food Box- Listed under Bread and Baked Goods—> Flour–> for our Hemp Protein Powders and in the Condiments, Sauces, Marinades & Oils—> Oils–> for our Flax, Hemp and Canola oils.  Soon to be available for purchase direct from our website and this Saturday we will be at City Hall for the Springtime City Market! We’re excited to kick off the downtown market season early and see some familiar faces. Starting the City Market earlier than usual makes me think that somehow summer will start earlier than usual…

But its got me wondering about the downtown residents without a weekly market in the winter: Which is your favorite local market? what makes it so special? the vendors? the scenery? the location? What about in the middle of winter? how far will you venture to shop a farmers market in the blizzardy Edmonton winter?

Flax Oil is pressing fresh as I write this and SuperFine Hemp Protein Powder is in the works!  See you at the Market!
